Data Storage Systems
We design, build, and support systems that keep your data safe, and readily available. These IT Data Storage Systems, also known as NASes (Network Attached Storage), come as either Ready Configured systems, or Custom Configured systems.
Ready Configured
Our Ready Configured NAS systems, provide you with a good selection of options, and clear pricing language. These NAS systems follow our rigorous system design philosophy and processes. When designing our Ready Configured NAS systems, we take many aspects into account, including performance, reliability, thermal flow, flexibility, price points, and much more.
We work hard to ensure that our Ready Configured NAS systems not only exceed our high standards, but ensure they are also worthy of your time and dollar investment. Our Ready Configured NAS systems are ideal for home, business or organizational usage in the Calgary and greater area; we do not currently ship them, but plan to in the future.
Custom Configured
In addition to our Ready Configured NAS systems, we also provide Custom Configured NAS system services. These services are flexible to your needs in many regards. The level of service we offer to you is at your discretion, ranging from simple NAS system designs that we sell you (and you procure, assemble, etc), all the way up to full life-cycle support. Full life-cycle support can include custom design, procurement, assembly, burn-in testing, support contracts, and so much more.
We tailor our Custom Configured NAS system services to your needs; perfect for residential, business or organizational use. These services are readily available to Clients in the Calgary area and Internationally too!
If you want our help with Custom Configured NAS systems, we recommend that you either Call Us ( 403-457-2279 ). E-Mail us.
Ready Configured :: Features
At the core of each of our Ready Configured NAS systems is ZFS and FreeNAS technologies. This means each of our Ready Configured NAS systems are bursting at the seams with features, and they can also work together in many useful ways! In addition to the features below, you can dig deeper in our FreeNAS & ZFS section, and we recommend you review our section on Data Corruption, to see the biggest reason we work with ZFS.
Our Ready Configured NAS systems can serve many needs, such as Video Production, Virtual Machines (VMWare, Hyper-V, Proxmox VE, etc), Engineering Data Manipulation, or even live event storage! Check out our selection to find out more.
Disk Redundancy (RAID)
Each of our Ready Configured NAS systems come with redundant disk configurations. This means each system can tolerate disk failure, and keep operating, without interruption. They can also be configured to alert you if a near-future failure is anticipated.
Compression
By default, any data stored is compressed. This not only increases the effective storage capacity, it also contributes to read and write performance. This compression comes at zero performance cost.
Data Integrity
ZFS provides multiple mechanisms that ensure your data is accurate. This is unlike traditional Hardware RAID arrays which have zero capability to prevent data corruption. The ZFS Integrity mechanisms correct data corruption as you interact with your data, as well as through scheduled scrubs.
File Sharing
Our Ready Configured NAS systems enable you to access your data many different ways. This includes common protocols such as Windows Shares (SMB), iSCSI, Linux Shares (NFS), Apple Shares (AFP), and more. Some protocols also include multipathing capabilities!
Snapshots
ZFS Snapshots provide a flexible, periodic and efficient way to protect your data, against even more forms of data loss. These can be used to protect against human error (accidental deletion), ransomware, or even external application bugs!
Replication
Each of our Ready Configured NAS systems can be configured to replicate to other Ready Configured NAS systems. This replication can be used for backup purposes, site-to-site duplication of data, or other periodic data duplication functions. ZFS Replication is also extremely bandwidth efficient!
Hot Swap
Should one of your storage drives fail, replacing can be done rapidly, without downtime, thanks to the hot swap bays in our Ready Configured NAS systems! Just pop the failed drive out, put the replacement in, tell FreeNAS to replace the old with the new, and necessary data gets automatically copied to the new disk!
Out of Band (IPMI)
Each of our Ready Configured NAS systems include a dedicated Out of Band Management interface, using IPMI. This interface can be used to manage the underlying hardware remotely. With this you can turn on, turn off, or restart the system. Plus you can use it to remotely interact with the local console!
Web Interface
The included Web Interface is feature rich, enabling you to make configuration changes, read historical statistics, or even apply updates! Generally, anything you would want to do, can be done through the built-in Web Interface.
